Square Foot Gardening List - http://www.flinet.com/~gallus/sqft.html

Hello, Sonya,

I'm forwarding this from the Organic Gardening discussion group, wherein
this was discussed over several days in May.

We've had good luck keeping critters away (so far) by tying white plastic
grocery bags at various heights on stakes throughout the garden. Many of
the stakes are there anyway for the peas, beans, tomatoes, etc.

Hope this helps some.

Pat

If it is the typical transparent fishing line, they can't see it. They
know there is a barrier there, but can't assess how high or low it is and
can't assure themselves of a safe exit if they do try to cross it. Rabbits
have very poor eyesight but do see motion quite clearly. My house rabbit
has no problem jumping a four or five foot solid barrier, but is foiled by
a piece of Plexiglas just higher than he can feel the top edge of while
standing on his hind legs. He judges the top edge of the solid barrier by
nodding his head up and down while staring at the top edge of the barrier,
he can't see the top edge of the Plexiglas.

It's a thankless job, but
I've got a lot of karma to burn off.
