Square Foot Gardening List - http://www.flinet.com/~gallus/sqft.html
Greetings:
Sorry I missed the beginning of this thread, but artichokes in the heading put me off.
I sometimes forget to put in my zone, but I think it was a great idea that we had all started list our zone number.
As to Bill DeWitt's comment about not wanting anyone to know where he lived, especially if they were telling him what to do...I can agree in theory! It may seem strange to us wonderfully fantastic gardeners, but the world is not always a friendly place. But Bob, to allay your fears...just putting in your Zone number doesn't necessarily tell people where you live.
Sometimes I write that I live on the southern edge of Zone 6, but do I live north of El Paso, TX, Wenatchee, WA, the Oklahoma panhandle, Missouri, or where? My point is listing my zone number DOES help someone I am giving to or taking advice from. If I live in Zone 9, I would not want advice from someone who lives in Zone 6 about planting times, or much else for that matter.
If the advice you are passing on or if the question you are asking is zone sensitive, I would really appreciate it if you would put your zone number in your signature. That way I know whether my two cents is helpful or not.
Have a great day,
Sheryl Zone6
