Earlier this spring I planted onion sets given to me by my neighbor, so I do not
know what varieties they are. Neither does he. They were white, yellow and red
sets. I have planted onion sets before and always got big onions. This time the
sets grew green leaves and then went to seed. Is there a reason for this? Are
they scallions sets? Is it a lack of moisture? Do I need to pull them out at
this point? I could use them as big scallions.
