Are Tomatillos in the nightshade family?  My husband is allergic nightshade family plants especially the tomatoes.  I was hoping tomatillos would be a substitute for him.

Tomatillos aren't tree tomatoes, Bill. Those are called "Tamarillos," I
think. Tomatillos are husk tomatoes, relatives of ground cherries, Chinese
lanterns, etc. Margaret L
