Mine's doing great so far. I planted too late last year at one per sqft and
wintered the corn over with clear plastic wrapped around the square. The
plants continued to grow during the cooler months, although slowly. Now that
it's warming up, the old plants have taken off and are producing tassels.
I've replanted the empty squares and interwoven corn as well -- Mel's latest
recommendation is up to FOUR corn plants per sqft. Yes, 64 plants per 4X4!
I think that's in the archives, and he's standing by that recommendation.
I planted Silver Queen, and seem to be getting two ears on about half the
plants PLUS the suckers that come up on the sides are getting ears.
Now the issue is surviving the crows.
