Square Foot Gardening List - http://www.flinet.com/~gallus/sqft.html
When I used to garden in a community space, I didn't have a way to harden
off my seedlings, and had to take them directly to the garden. The way I
got them through their first exposure to full sunlight was to build shade
cages. Instead of shade cloth (not available the day I needed to build the
things) I used window screen and 1"x2" wood for boxes that fit over one or
two squares. I then transplanted the seedlings directly in the garden, and
left the shade cage over them until my next visit. It wasn't ideal, but it
did work out in most cases. Now I put seedlings out on the front porch
where they get an hour or two of direct sunlight, and the rest of the day
filtered light or shade. When they get a little stronger I move them for a
day into more direct light.
