Square Foot Gardening List - http://www.flinet.com/~gallus/sqft.html
Katherine,
Just got pole beans, Sugar Snap. They were taller than some.
Maybe than most i saw... tho' I also see a heavy trend to short corn,
3-5 ft predominates.
Since last foot can dangle, yer 6ft (3 cut from 10) would be ok. I have a wee
bit a Sctch, so I would say you can cut next year if you want... leave long,
hand feeders and pretty wind socks this year. hummer feeres, etc, and bare
last 2 feet hard for squirrels.
Ron's point taken tho, about requiring a garden stool at times. Wonder how
Trudi will pick 15ft corn. I forget if I responded to someone's corn, was it
4 per sq ft? Up to 2 ears per? Maybe 5-6 per sq ft? I do 1 per, a 5-6 ft
corn... and get 3-7 per, incl side shoots. But where two kernels are there or
many side shoots, they seem smaller. At a 1 per sq ft, access is good, and
maybe enough light to try the bean pole trick. Maybe 2-4 per corn stalk.
YEWS, they are fun at Halloween.
