I am, tho I haven't had enough personal experience to be able to tell you
how well it has worked for me. But I'm sure it does -- not only have I
heard stories from others including relatives who were gardeners and
farmers in my youth, but the practice has been around for centuries and
served the oldtimers well.

It's not that things won't grow or produce when planted under an
*unfavorable sign,* but that they'll do better more easily when assisted by
the right timing. Also that doing the planting (or other task) might be
*easier* and go more smoothly under the right sign. So it needn't be
something that restricts one too much -- like you can't pull a weed when
the moon is in Taurus.

One of the things I'm finding helpful is that I have SO many things I need
to be doing in the garden that taking note of the moon signs helps me
select which tasks are optimum for that period. (The moon is in each sign
for roughly 2-1/2 days at a time.) IOW, if I have some things to plant, I
know that Cancer, Scorpio and Pisces are great times to do that (Taurus and
Capricorn slightly less excellent), but extensive weeding ought to wait
until Leo, Aquarius, Gemini. And so forth. I almost always have something
that's *best* for any given sign and it helps me prioritize.

The practrice also provides a wonderful rhythm to gardening activities
which is, to me, very fulfilling as well. It's like a minor version of the
annual cycle, to some extent, paying attention to the lesser cycles within
the greater annual cycle.

I was interested in doing this last year, but wasn't able to to any great
extent. I do remember planting some herb plants I'd bought in the right
sign, mindful of the fact that the sign changed to weed-pulling sign in
late afternoon (so I had a deadline of sorts). As the specific time came --
just as I was finishing up (since I was hurrying), I felt a definite shift
in the energy. Subtle, but definite. On occasion I've noticed that I wasn't
able to get around to doing something until the beneficial time came.

Any other experience out there? Cheri, I'd be interested in what your local
woman's suggestions for lunar planting are. There are some different ideas
about it, and to my way of thinking, some conflicting information.

West Georgia, Zone 7b, where the waning moon goes into Aquarius in an hour
or so, a good time for weeding -- and boy do I have weeding to do!
