I'm not an expert but it sounds like damp -- off to me which can come with to
much moisture and heat. A perfect breeding ground for fungus and disease. I
read somewhere that after you have planted your seeds that you should very
lightly sprinkle a fine dust of sphagnum moss which acts like a natural
fungicide and supposedly can protect your seeds from damp off. Also
ventilation seems to be important. Some have suggested an oscillating fan for
a few hours a day. Not directly on the seeds...just so that there is a
little ventilation around the seeds. Hope this helps. Keep us posted.
