It's called "garden compost" which I got at Lowe's. It says "100% compost
wood fines, sand", but it doesn't give any more specifics. Costs $ 2.99 a
bag. It looks like peat moss, only a little heavier. I figured it couldn't
hurt to add some of that. I'm also seeing things called "top soil" at the
local garden centers and I wondered about getting that instead, but it's too
late now.

I only really till it once a year. I was surprised how much it compacted
within a year without ever walking on it.

I don't get it. How do you get manure under your bed? Do you dig it all up,
put the manure down, then put the top soil back on?

That sounds like a smelly proposition to me!!! Hey, I could use a little
manure, especially to put in my compost pile, and I have a high pressure
hose on my driveway. Write to me off-line and I'll give you the address and
