Edith and Annie:
The bush ones are called determinate. These are the ones that grow
in a bush, are short, set all of their fruit at once, and that's it, and
should fit in a tomato cage. These are recommended for canning
since you have your whole crop at once, supposedly.
The vine ones are called indeterminate. These grow for a very long
time, are long, set fruit continuously, and will definately not fit in a
tomato cage, and have more varieties from which to choose.
