Kathreen was wondering about a recipe for manure tea: > I've been reading that a lot of folks use manure tea to feed the > garden but I don't know how to make it. Can someone give me a recipe? Here's the recipe that I use: 2 litres (0.5 US gallon) of manure to 23 litres (5.75 US gallons) of water. Let it sit for a few weeks. Dilute 1:5 and apply every two weeks to nitrogen-hungry plants. Why the exact ratios? That's the size drum I happened to have on hand when I first made it. Unless you make it very weak in the first place, you will need to dilute it before applying otherwise you might burn tender roots. The mixture I apply to the plants is about the colour of medium strength tea.
