Sunlight and plant placement

Hi, Everyone,

I had a question about the amount of sunlight needed and plant placement.
The area we are going to put the garden receives the required amount of sun
the plants need (6-8 hours at least) but some of the area is in the shadow
of the house until around 9 or 10 each morning.  What plants should go back
there in that partial shade?  And does it matter that the sun they receive
will be full afternoon sun?
