Hi Francine, you wrote: >I already know, having found out the hard way, not to plant things like >onions or garlic with your tomatoes because they will flavor them >unpleasantly. Anybody else planted garlic or green onions with their tomatoes? I planted garlic with and among my tomatoes last year, and I had the most delicious tomatoes - no hint of any unpleasant garlicky flavor. I have one source (a web site source) that says onions are not good with tomatoes, but another source (might be Carrots Love Tomatoes book or another garden book/mag article) says they go fine. Nowhere can I find garlic as a bad companion plant for tomatoes...Matter of fact I had garlic among my eggplant last year and didn't notice any unpleasant flavor either - the eggplant was just as mild and buttery as you could want.. Just my 2 cents. Shawn swestaway@smtplink.coh.org Claremont, CA usda9b sunset19
