Hi,
Guess what? The rain stopped today & we went comet watching tonight. Have
you all seen it? BTW, there will be a partial lunar eclipse on Sunday, so
if you have a clear sky, the comet will be bright.
That's not why I writing though. I want to know what you use as a planting
medium for your transplants. Currently my seedlings are growing in
vermiculite and have been watered/fertilized with PlanTea. I'm ready to
transplant the cabbage/broccoli/broccoli raab. Tomatoes have teeny, tiny,
almost invisible true leaves coming on & peppers are still at the pre leaf
stage. Parsley will be ready in a week or so.
I'm planning on mixing compost (home grown), with coco fibre and a bit of
vermiculite. Does that sound ok?
My concern is that my compost is not sterile since it has been growing,
mellowing outside all winter. It is well composted however, and I'll screen
it before I use it.
