I'm a big fan of Jerry Bakers.  I use his all purpose tonic all the time and
have great results.  I attribute my gardening success to Mel's square foot
system and Jerry Bakers maintenance tonics.  Jerry is very controversial on

Try a mix 1 part aluminum sulfate to 3 parts pelletized lime.  Apply in a
hand held whirly spreader, I don't remember the setting say a 3, and apply to
the around your plants and into your lawn.  Slugs hid under thins so turn,
turn, turn and pick, pick, pick.  Put the slugs in a coffee can filled with
salted water.

You can also get some slug bait at most garden centers.
