In Britain we have a weekly radio program called 'Gardeners Question
Time' on BBC Radio 4. Today, Bob Flowerdew (it is his real name), an
organic gardener, announced to listeners that he wanted to conduct a large
scale experiment on lunar planting. He asks as many listeners as possible
to plant some seeds on Good Friday ,then to repeat a similar planting on
Easter Monday. They are asked to report on initial germination and then on
final crop results. We shall see what happens. Maybe some readers of this
newsletter would like to join in and make it a world wide experiment.
I personally have a open mind on the subject. Even if there are are
scientific arguments against planetary pulls there may be other
unrecognised links.

Having studied statistical analysis as part of my degree
course, I am well aware of the limitations of the aforementioned activity .
Ninety percent of views (a figure of speech, not a scientifically
researched statistic) expressed in this newsletter are the product of
personal experience and unsubstanciated opinions - I don't think that this
makes our group invalid ! I think a mass activity, such as this planting,
is a fun way of stimulating debate that may even lead to more scientific
study. Maybe I should apologise for having used the word 'experiment' so
flippantly when trying to recall Bob's request.
Yours in good humour,
Vernon.
