We haven't planted potatoes yet this year.  When we do we will put the potatoe
plant in the ground and then as the plant grows, place wheat straw around and
on the potato plant.  I did this years ago in college and in our gardens.
Makes it easier for me and for the studnets to get to the potatoes.
