Square Foot Gardening List - http://www.flinet.com/~gallus/sqft.html
There's quite a lot of information on the web about the allelopathic effects
of eucalyptus. Most of it has to do with eucalypt plantations in other
countries. Allelopathic effects of the fallen litter can supposedly inhibit
growth of other plants. When this was discussed at length a few years ago
on another gardening list, we learned that:
"According to recent research in California there are no toxic effects from
using either fresh or composted eucalyptus leaves as a mulch for other
plants. etc."
Not to dispute the U of C's findings, but I wouldn't use the stuff. There
are lots of other choices.
