Thank you to all who wrote with advice on using all the leaves I have.  Being
I have a mulchng mower, I think running over the leaf pile with the mower
before turning them in the soil will be my best bet.

Regarding the question asked about planting asparagus and tomatoes, I am
planting my asparagus seedlings (yes I am crazy and starting them from seed)
in a checkerboard pattern.  I will be planting tomatoes between them this year
as they will not get anywhere as big as a mature plant.  Next year I will use
the space between them for compatable herbs and/or flowers.
