I hand pollinated zukes because I discovered I was not getting any to grow 
past the flower stage (they wrinkle up and die when not pollinated), so I 
just helped nature along a little.  Funny, the cukes seem to have no problem 
getting pollinated...guess the few bees in this area a picky!
