Parks starts get thumbs down

Some of you may recall my glowing tribute to this method of seed starting a
couple of months ago. For those of you not familiar with Parks starts they
are Styrofoam "bricks" with 18 round holes in which one inserts the special
"plugs"made from peat and some sort of "sponge like" material. Although I
was very impressed with the speed and completeness of the seed germination
now that I've set most of these plants out I notice they are having a
difficult time "breaking" out of the plug and are noticeably less vigorous
than the ones started and grown in cups. Hopefully this a momentary thing
and as they get better established they will catch up to the others.
