Thank you Lisa, how nice of you to offer- but I think I will just go buy
transplants at this stage of the game. We do have a nifty little nursery in
the foothills that has some different varieties of things and so maybe I'll
go up there next weekend to get some stuff. The only thing that I planted
that I can't replace that is BUGGING me is "edame beans"- the soybeans you
can steam.I mail ordered them-planted half and they were one of the seed
packets that flew away-(argh!) if anyone that has a couple extra of those
beans and could spare them-it would be greatly appreciated- they don't sell
them in stores around here.

This weekend will be spent putting things back together- Other neighbors
with older mobile homes faired much worse than I -roofs damaged ,trees that
fell on carports or branches that broke windows-lots of siding that came
loose and we have a lot of seniors who can't do a lot. Home owner's is
almost useless because if you have more than one claim- they cancel you -so
unless your roof flies off- you just try to take care of it yourself. We all
kind of help each other out in this park which is really kind of
terrific. All those old fart neighbors I am always telling you all about- I
just love them.
Well- most of them.

So I'll be busy with my place and helping this weekend and won't be able to
get any transplants for another week- It is already so hot here- the growing
season is well on it's way and to tell you the truth- I don't really want to
start anymore seeds. Maybe I will feel different about that next week- but
right now I am just overwhelmed.

This is just my little garden and some minor property damage- but all up
and down the delta- farmer lost whole crops and people lost boats and
houseboats- I am counting my blessing and thinking how fragile our farmers'
lives must be- I never complain about the cost of produce- those guys earn
every penny as far as I am concerned.

Well the wind has died down a bit but we are still on a wind advisory- we
wound up with gusts up to 57 MHP this afternoon and they closed some of the
freeways down due to zero visibility. I can't EVER remember this happening
before and I have lived here all my life. I am sure the weather guy will
have some logical explanation for it- something weird going on out in the
Pacific or something-news at 11
.It 's so good to hear all about everyone's gardens and how excited they
are- it is hard to stay down when you have a cheering section like this!I
will just pretend I am in zone 5and am just getting started!
-thanks-Kitty
