Hi Richard,

I've copied and pasted a few things from documents I've saved over the years about companion plantings. Looks like the answer is no, they are not good companions (at least based on this stuff).

 ROSEMARY
In the garden: Plant near cabbage, beans, carrots, and sage. Deters cabbage moth, bean beetles, and carrot fly.
In the kitchen: Use for poultry, lamb, and tomato dishes, stews, soups, and vegetables. Try it finely chopped in breads and custards.

Tomato

Good companions:

Asparagus, Basil, Lima Beans, Cabbage

Bad companions:

Beetroot, Fennel, Kohlrabi, Broccoli, Brussel Sprouts, Cauliflower, Potato, Rosemary, Carrots, Chives, Dill, Onions, Parsley, Parsnip, Nasturtium

Does anyone else need to know about specific plants and herbs, or about which ones (supposedly) repel bad bugs and attract good ones?

Laurie -
I guess everyone is just too busy in their gardens to post many emails to the list. It usually quiets down quite a bit during the growing season. I'm sure it will pick back up soon.
On the garden side of things, does anyone know if I can plant tomatoes near rosemary? I know that certain plants and veggies like to grow near each other as well as certain plants and veggies don't do well near each other. Is this such a case or can I go ahead and plant them next to each other.

Thanks,
Richard

My name is Laurie Smith (l*@home.com).  Recently, I've noticed that  I am no longer receiving messages from this board.  Can you tell me what the problem is?  Did I inadvertently unsubscribe myself?  Please help me as I did enjoy receiving the daily posts from this list.
Sincerely,
