Have you had inspected that plant for leaf sucking insects?

My guess is cabbage worms.  I use row covers to prevent this and don't
remove the covers until later in the season.  Here is info from the
gardensalive.com pest site.  Of course you don't have to use their products.
But it gives you some ideas on how to fight them. Since they've hatched
you're pass prevention and on to treatment. : (
