Because the plants were coming out the tops of the WOWs, I did also cover them with plastic sheeting on the coldest nights/days as well. All 4 are doing quite well. They claim to protect down to 17 degrees or something like that, but I'm not sure I believe that. But for light frosts they seem to work great. One caveat, you do need to have enough sunlight to warm the water. I would guess a few cloudy days below freezing would not be a good thing.
