Re: Pruning Tomatoes?

As the tomato grows the main stem, you will see it produce a leaf, between
the leaf and the main stem, at about a 45 degree angle, the plant will
produce another stem, that's called a sucker. If allowed to grow, the
sucker will produce tomatoes. Allowing suckers to grow will produce a very
bushy plant. If you pinch off the suckers, the plant will produce less fruit
but better tasting fruit. Try planting two plants, let one grow wild, and
pinch off the other. The proof will be in the taste.
