Re: Floating Row Covers

Cheryl, there are at least two advantages to the floating row covers. In
the event of an unexpected freeze, they will hold the temperature a few
degrees higher which could get you through the freeze if it is slight and it
warms up quickly the next day. They will also prevent some of the insect
problems on some crops, e.g., cabbage looper moths. In both cases, they
need to be fully tucked into the ground. They will not prevent cutworms or
stop insects that are already in your beds.

However, once the plants are growing and you need pollination, you will have
to be sure that they are removed.
