Just because the one part of a plant is edible doesn't mean all parts are.
Tomato leaves are poisonous, for example.

I remember reading somewhere that _Lathyrus_ seeds are toxic, but i can't
remember where. The information that i could find via Alta Vista says that
they can cause bone damage to horses and aneurisms (yikes!) in horses and
turkeys, but does not report toxicity in humans.

I'd say, just to be on the safe side, don't eat 'em.
