I wouldn't use tires for an asparagus bed because you have to leave it
alone for a while. My main garden is sqft, but I put the asparagus bed
outside of the regular garden next to a fence. It's out of the way and
the asparagus get to stretch their roots. You might be able to plant one
asparagus in one tire, but it won't get you much in the way of harvest.
My bed's out of the way of the mower as well as out of the way of foot
traffic.
