I have had good luck with just leaving pieces of the towel with the
roots.  The first time I tried it I was afraid the towel would wick the
water to much, but it doesn't seem to.  The paper towel will break down
with all other natural ingrediants and the plants almost seem to servive
better.  It also seems to make it easier to lay the roots into the soil
without damaging them.  I have had 100% success doing this.
