Jeruseulem Artichokes

I bought some Jeruseleum artichokes at the grocery store & pushed a
bunch of them down into one square.  Now I have about 8 or more big
plants (the only thing that seems to be growing well!).  I've read
other posts that they are invasive.  Would I be better off just
pulling them out now?  Thanks
