You nailed it, Bill!  The weather is glorious here in Zone 5b, Central
Illinois, and I'm planting every transplant that has been languishing
indoors under lights waiting for the weather to break.  Must report to all
you southern SQ Footer, of which I was one until last July, that gardening
in the upper Mid-West is just too easy!!  We Southerners work our fannies
off and sweat for every little success in the garden.  Here, you just plant
it, and it grows perfectly!!  I have cabbage, broccoli and cauliflower
without a hole, knick or blemish on their leaves; lettuce that is huge and
NOT bitter, peas that are big and plump, potatoes that exploded out of the
ground and are already 3 feet tall in less than 50 days and on and on!  The
best part is that my tomatoes have NO disease!  I think this must be
gardening paradise.  Now, if I could just avoid that -27F January weather.
