Apparently there are different height varieties of sugar snap peas.
We just planted Burpee's Sugar Bon (Snap Peas).
According to the packaging the are ready in 56 days, grow to only 24" high
and require no support.
I like Brian's suggestion about interplanting with the pole beans. Then
your peas will be near support in case they are a variety that do need it.
