Bad news, Trudy.  When stink bugs are mature and all over your tomatoes,
they are almost impossible to kill.  Only the nymphs can be killed with
Sevin.  There is a horridly toxic chemical on the market called Endosulfan
that will kill stink bugs and just about every other creature on earth.  If
your tomatoes are mature, have a star marking on the blossom end, pick them
and let them ripen indoors.  Other than that, try hand picking the bugs.
Next time you plant tomatoes, plant sunflowers next to them.  They act as a
trap crop for stink bugs.  They prefer the flowers and leave the tomatoes
alone--well, almost.  But the difference is significant, and you can harvest
mostly unbitten tomatoes.

Hi everyone,

Hope someone can help!  Stinkbugs are eating my tomatoes.  I've tried
insectizidal soap, which didn't work.  Then I tried sevin dust, which
they don't even seem to notice.  I called my county extension office
today and the "Expert Gardener" there said she didn't know what to do
but she'd look it up and "mail me some information."  I don't think
my tomato plants have that much time left.  What works?????????
