Square Foot Gardening List - http://www.flinet.com/~gallus/sqft.html
Actually, I like squirrels and don't even try to
ban them from the birdseed I put out. But one has taken a liking to my new
cinderblock square foot bed for some reason and I'm afraid it may come to
war! He keeps digging little holes, seemingly randomly. He doesn't
seem to be digging up the seeds I've planted, so I'm not sure what he's
after. I planted some marigolds in the cinderblock holes, and the other
day I found a hole next to it, and it was pulled out of the ground. I
replanted it, and it seemed to be coming back. Just now, I found the exact
same one pulled out of the ground again!
So, my question to you more experienced
gardeners--what might this little guy be up to? Is it possible he's actually
doing some good by digging up slugs or something? If not, what would you
suggest to discourage him?
