Not sure what "professional" means here--possibly just a ref to the size of
the bag. I'm sure it was more cost effective to buy that quantity, but
you've got a multi-year supply now for sure.

The labels are vague, IMO, because the breakdown of Osmocote takes place
over time and is probably influenced by the microorgasmic profile of your
own soil. So it's not really easy to be specific like one can with
synthetic chemical fertilizers.
Into each planting hole for a tomato, I put about a tablespoon of Osomcote
pellets, a trowelful of composted horse manure, a tablespoon or so of Epsom
salts, and a cup of water laced with a transplant-encouraging compound like
Bargyla Rateaver's "Enzoom" or "Roots."
I did pansies with a half-teaspoon of Osmo in each planting hole and they're
blooming their heads off.
