Square Foot Gardening List - http://www.flinet.com/~gallus/sqft.html
Okay, like I said before, I'm a first-timer so pardon the incompetence --
But, what do aphids look like? I'm in Zone 6 (SE Ohio) and my tomato plants have these little, almost clear things with wings that look kind of like gnats on the underside of the leaves. Closer to the base of the leaves and around these "gnat-thingys" are little black dots (eggs or young "gnat-thingys"????).
Are they good or bad creatures and if bad, how do you combat them?
Thanks,
Kristine

I live in zone 8 (southeastern Virginia), and this is my third year as a square foot gardener. My tomatoes have been infested with aphids and some sort of small white....... bug that resembles a very small white mosquito. I think it may be a whitefly, but at this point I am not certain. Could anyone help me identify this bug? Is it harmful to my tomatoes, or is it there to eat the aphids? If it is harmful, can anyone suggest a none chemical solution that will rid my square foot garden of both pests.
Thanks,
John
