Re: Flea Beetles

Square Foot Gardening List - http://www.flinet.com/~gallus/sqft.html

I called the organic products company Gardens Alive re: how to get rid
of flea beetles. The following products are what they suggest: 5%
rotenone (spray or dust), liquid rotenone/pyrethrin combo, beneficial
nematodes called Grub Away, white sticky traps, diatomaceous earth and
super light insect barrier (you keep this ultra light cover on the
plants as they grow and just take it off when the plants start
flowering). Also listed as killing flea beetles is a product you can
buy at your local garden center: Safer Insecticidal Soap with
Pyrethrins. Gardens Alive phone # is 812/537-8650. I believe they have
a website too, www.gardensalive.com. Hope these help!

I too have major flea beetle and leaf hopper problems, though I don't
have any right now. I know I will though as the season progresses. My
plants just aren't old enough yet. If anyone has tried these or other
methods please let us know, so we don't waste time and try something
that doesn't work.

zone 9, so cal.
