There may be something to this concerning black walnut leaves. I have quite
a few here. I've always been fascinated that almost nothing grows beneath
the walnut trees. The grass...weeds?...is rather sparse compared to under
other trees. What does grow is severly stunted.
I've always wondered about why.
Can anyone offer an explanation or confirmaton of Bill's comments? I think I
won't use any black walnut leaves in my compost just because I know very
little grows under them. Something is causing the lack of growth.
