Kodak does make some very nice cameras.
Another option is to look at cameras made by Olympus. I recently bought an
Olympus D340-R. It cost me $299 so not a bad deal. I have not
printed out any of the pictures form it but my dad has and carries them in his
wallet. I would recommend that you get rechargeable batteries as soon as
possible after buying the camera. Most of them devour batteries very
quickly. I found that RayOVac has a nice 4 battery charger AND makes
nickel metal hydride batteries at a price I could afford. The charger and
4 packs of batteries(2 full sets) cost me somewhere around $40 to $50 the
savings in regular battery cost are wroth it. The reason I went for the
more expensive nickel metal hydride batteries is they are the best for digital
cameras and less toxic when disposed of.
I don't have any garden pictures yet maybe next
year, but you can see photos I have taken with this camera at
members.tripod.com/wykvlvr. You will see my "helpers" there.
