Hi There, 
We blanch ours in a steam bath here in CT for about a good 12 minutes. Then we place 
them on a cookie sheet and freeze them individually, then we take the frozen broccoli 
and store it in zip lock freezer bags. When we need to use it we take out only as much 
as we need. Hope this helps.  P.S. Isn't broccoli great ?  eat your heart out george bush
