I've been reading everyone's advice on how to deal with rocky soil, and I'm jealous. We have NO rocks here on the coastal plain of the Gulf of Mexico. We also have no topography---the average elevation of this county is 3 inches above sea level. And, yes we flood regularly. I was nice enough to share rain drops with whomever needed them. Please send me your extra rocks, in exchange. My husband would be most grateful, because he's going to build a pond and waterfall this winter. We have paid up to $80 for a boulder to accent flower beds. Rocks are like gold in these parts. I'd love some tiny ones, too, to add texture to the gumbo clay soil I deal with daily. It eats compost like a teenager inhales potato chips. Seriously, Amy, raised beds are your best bet. And use those beautiful rocks for garden borders and waterfalls!
