I use peat moss a lot. I have grass clippings all summer long, and
no "brown stuff" (such as dead leaves) to mix in. If you just pile
fresh grass clippings into the bin you will get a fermenting mess
that stinks to high heaven. But if you alternate a few inches of
peat moss with a few inches of grass, it works out fairly well.
