Square Foot Gardening List - http://www.flinet.com/~gallus/sqft.html
Patricia:
You're more than welcome!
The Sept/Oct 99 issue of Organic Gardening magazine also has an article
entitled "Predicting the First Frost". Some clues listed are:
1) Clouds: if the sky is clear, the air is dry, and the temp is falling,
chances are a frost will settle on your garden...
2) Breezes: frost is less likely on a night with a gentle breeze (but
not strong wind) blowing...
3) Trees: a veggie garden surrounded on 3 sides by mature trees will
survive the 1st two or three frosts untouched (they act like a blanket)
4) Dew Point: the more moisture in the air at sunset (higher dew point),
the less the likelihood that frost will occur during the night.
5) Frost Pocket: elevation of the garden (at the bottom of a hollow or
valley will be colder) is a factor also
(Hope I haven't infringed on a copyright!)
Also, watering your garden well will help when there's a frost
predicted.
Hope this is helpful to you and anyone out there interested.
Stay warm!

yesterday to house my lettuce; I'm so excited!)
