Square Foot Gardening List - http://myweb.flinet.com/~gallus/sqft.html
Hi y'all!
I'm square foot gardening in the Piedmont region in upstate South
Carolina. It has the advantage of a long growing season (zone 7b), but it
has the frustrations of high heat and draught, as well as every garden
predator known to mankind.
During our normally cold, but mild winters, I have successfully raised
leaf lettuce, arugula, spinach, and mache in a 5 X 5 foot cold frame. In
February I start my tomato and green pepper seedlings in flats in the
cold frame. My frustration is that the cold frame just doesn't have
enough room. I've been thinking about growing some winter greens under
tunnels. If any of you have any words of wisdom on design, materials,
(and sources for those), as well as manageable size, I would appreciate
it. I really don't know where to start, but I need to get going on it, or
it will be too late for this fall/winter's potential growing season.
Thanks in advance!
Rob
