Is this the only fertilizer you use? The bottle directions said 1 tbsp. per gallon, so I have a gallon water bottle I use to mix it up. I've never used foliar fertilizer, because I've always been afraid to spread disease from the soil to leaves. I just pour about 1/2-1 cup around the base of each plant about every two weeks. It's the only fertilizer I use right now during the growing season. I wanted to use some kelp or seaweed emulsion, but have been unable to find it. When I do I plan to alternate weeks with seaweed vs. fish. When I am not growing something in a square, I add homemade compost, peat moss, gypsum, vermiculite, well-composted steer manure, storebought organic compost, and/or Kellogg's Amend, depending on what I will plant there. I don't mulch (because of snails), and I don't add my own compost during the growing and harvesting period because my compost is usually too hot. (My pepper plants hate compost but seem to adore the fish emulsion.) Just FYI I use soaker hoses to water, so all of it goes right to the plant bases, making this a good area to feed the plants as well. You get used to the fishy smell after a while, and even my other half now lets me mix it up in the kitchen sink! Good luck.
