Square Foot Gardening List - http://www.flinet.com/~gallus/sqft.html
I was cracking up when you said you were petting your sprouts.... you can't
accuse us of being a selfish bunch.
Last "early" spring...I got excited and planted my Early Girls, and
Brandywines, in March ( I am in zone 9, so that isn't as crazy as some of
you might think) anyway, we had some unseasonable cold weather here in
California last spring, and I was told all of the blooms would fall off.
Someone told me if I went out and "flicked" each bloom, it would make them
set. Well every day, in the cold and rain, I was flicking my tomato plants.
Those plants held their blooms and produced fruit faster than allot of my
more experienced and wiser gardener friends.
Such a good feeling when you bring up a bunch of good "kids" and they
produce, even though you are going by the seat of your pants.
Peg
every one of those plants
