Re: Ant Question

Square Foot Gardening List - http://www.flinet.com/~gallus/sqft.html

Hi Debbie,

I must have been blessed with terrific luck or something: Fire ants went
away after one easy treatment, and have never come back. And I live in the
fire ant capital of the world, Austin. Thanks for letting me get up on my
soapbox, while all of my neighbors are out in their yards spooning poison
granules into their fire ant mounds.

Beneficial nematodes. No more fire ants. I do one treatment in the
spring, two if I remember. Haven't seen a flea in a few years, either.
And the place was infested with 'em when I bought it from the guy with 6
dogs.

Everyone I've met that says nematodes don't work for fire ants and fleas
hasn't tried it. Or are spraying 'em on their lawn that has so much poison
soaked into it that nothing but fire ants, fleas, and cockroaches could live
there. Good luck!

Tom
