Square Foot Gardening List - http://www.flinet.com/~gallus/sqft.html
All,
Although not completely organic, I'm glad I don't eat GM (genetically
modified) foods.
See below an interesting comment from one of the newspapers. For those
of you that are unaware, Sainsbury is one of the four biggest
supermarkets in Britain.
Pesticide safety limit raised by 200 times 'to suit GM - industry' -
Malcolm Kane, formerly head of food safety at Sainsbury, has accused the
British government of raising the permitted level of pesticide residue
in soya by 200 times to ensure that GM produce remained legal. Mr Kane
says that soya created using GM technology to be resistant to the
herbicide glyphosate - marketed as Roundup by Monsanto - now has 20
parts per million of residue, and he is worried about the long term
effects on diet and health. Daily Mail 21/09/99 p15
regards
Brian
